Brining you my second apple recipe of the day to go along with my fab apple butter, here!

Slather the butter all over this yummy apple bread. I promise you won’t be disappointed!

This apple bread is super rustic, thick, and is perfect as a snack, for breakfast, dessert, whatever you want.

Don’t be afraid to experiment with this bread by adding nuts and spices for extra crunch and a POP of flavor. The smell alone will be enough to drive your senses into overdrive.

Walnut Apple Bread

Ingredients
For the Bread
  • 3 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 cup Brown sugar
  • 1 cups ¼buttermilk
  • 1 ½ cups peeled cored and diced apples
  • 1 stick unsalted butter
  • ½ cup chopped walnuts
  • 1 tsp. vanilla extract
  • 2 ½ tsp. baking soda
  • 1 tsp. baking powder
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 2 tsp. cinnamon
  • ½ tsp. nutmeg
For the Topping
  • 2 tbsp. melted butter
  • 1 tbsp. sugar optional
  • 1 tsp. cinnamon
  • ½ cup chopped walnuts

For the Bread
  • 3 cups all-purpose flour

  • 1 tsp. baking powder
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 2 tsp. cinnamon
  • ½ tsp. nutmeg
For the Topping
  • 2 tbsp. melted butter
  • 1 tbsp. sugar optional
  • 1 tsp. cinnamon
  • ½ cup chopped walnuts
Instructions
  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees
  2. In a mixer or bowl, beat butter and sugar together. Add eggs and vanilla and continue to beat.
  3. Add dry bread ingredients. Slowly add buttermilk to the mixture until incorporated.
  4. Add in walnuts and apple. Stir to combine.
  5. Grease your loaf pan with butter or a spray or use parchment paper. Add batter until almost full leaving room at the top for the bread to rise.
  6. Add the topping on top of the batter and bake for 50 minutes to 1 hour 10 minutes or until a toothpick or knife is inserted and comes out clean.
  7. Once done, let bread cool for 15 minutes in pan then remove from pan and finish cooling on a cooling rack.
Recipe Notes

Serve warm or room temperature with apple butter. Enjoy!
