Hey, You, Let’s Be Friends, Let’s Get Personal

Over the past 5 months my blog has started to grow and I am so happy!

Like, super happy!

Like OVER THE MOON happy.

It is an exciting feeling to put yourself out there and have people actually like it/you, ya know?

So, awkwardly enough…even though I am putting myself out there, I don’t feel like you really know me.

Get what I am saying?

I don’t really know you either.

I guess what I am trying to say is….let’s get to know each other better!  Get up close and personal! 

I’m talking, let’s get mani/pedis, go on a champagne campaign, hit the mall, text, be Instagram buddies, make friendship bracelets and be BFF’s FOREVER.

First thing you need to know about me is that I am intense. Clearly.

Don’t be afraid [ssshhh].

anyways, on the real. I would love for you all to get to know me better and I would love to get to know you better.

Here are 10 Things About Me:

I Have Vitiligo:

Aka. The Michael Jackson disease as some like to call it. Basically, I used to be brown. A cute little Indian girl.  I was diagnosed when I was 6 years old, and it took me close to 23 years to turn all “white.” I say “white” because technically I have no skin pigmentation. Like none! So that leaves me super vulnerable to the sun. I have been called Snow White or porcelain doll my whole life. I’ll take Snow White.

My Dream is to Backpack Around South East Asia:

Asia in all respects is a magical land to me. Southeast Asia specifically intrigues me because of its vast offerings. You can hop to and from many countries quite seamlessly, and although the weather is temperamental, the food is out of this world! Honestly, I just want to eat my way through every food cart on the street.

 I was Going to be a Lawyer:

I was on track my whole life to go to law school…until I moved to Vegas. I am a stereotypical Indian girl who lived a very sheltered life. I wasn’t allowed to have sleepovers, or go to the movies, or do any “normal” high school teenager things.

When I moved to Vegas it was a total culture shock for me. To make a long story short, I worked at a bank to work my through college. When I turned 21 I left bank life and started working at a nightclub. I graduated and instead of putting my time into my LSAT’s I partied. Luckily, but not without some bumps in the road, I got back on track, but never fulfilled my goal being a lawyer. Sometimes your dreams change. If I hadn’t passed up the lawyer route I may not be here today writing this post for you all.

I have Eaten a Bunch of Weird Stuff:

This probably doesn’t come as fun new fact about me because you all know how much I am obsessed with food….but really.

I have tried a lot of game meat like, venison, yummy, elk, yummy, moose, yummy, duck, yummy, rabbit, it’s alright… I tried kangaroo meat in Australia…but only a bite…it didn’t feel right eating a kangaroo! I have also had frog legs, yummy, escargot, yummy and numerous creatures in the sea! Feeling like Andrew Zimmerman over here.

I have Big Feet:

Probably going to get a  lot of shit for this one, but whatever. My brother, other family members, friends and boyfriend have all made of my feet. 

I am 5 ft tall and wear a size 7 show that ranges all the way up to a 8. 

For a little girl I have some gigantic fe’ fi’ fo’ feet. It is what it is and not mad about it! 

I have Slight OCD Issues:

This covers a plethora of things, but I can share something specific. Let me know your thoughts. I have a few lipsticks and glosses that get all over glasses when I drink out them. 

I am totally disgusted by that.

 It’s weird, but I am disgusted by my own lip marks on a glass. I don’t like getting the lipstick remnants from the glass back into my lips or mouth….it just grosses me out! 

I Suck at Makeup:

There are many awesome beauty tips I have for your skin and hair, but when it comes to actual application of makeup count me out! How the hell does contouring work? Am I supposed to be using a bronzer shade 17x’s darker than my skin? What does a highlighter do? Does it go all over? 

HELP. 

I was Born in England:

I was born in Cambridge, England and moved to America when I was 7 or 8 years old. We moved to Seattle, then to Montana, then to Vegas, then to Boston, then to San Diego, and in a few short months back to Boston! 

I always get asked if I am an Army brat, and the answer is no. Just like to move around and gain new experiences.  

I Love Long, Hot Showers:

Super guilty of being that person who is in the shower for 30 minutes. Also, I love super hot water. None of that lukewarm shit for me. If it doesn’t leave me a little red, it’s not hot enough. 

There is nothing better than letting a pile of stress melt away in a nice hot shower. 

(Justin takes longer showers than me in case anyone is wondering, hehe)

I Want to Work with a Non-Profit:

The Peace Corps has been a long time dream of mine. When I was younger I wanted to become a lawyer to then eventually, one day, work with the United Nations. 

I hope one day I do get to work with them, or any cause that I care about. I would love to help build schools in India and teach young girls about health, language, and becoming successful on their own accord.
