7 Beauty Tips For Women Who Struggle

Don’t you just love a good tip?

I’m talking like any tip…anything that is going to help me struggle through life less, I am all ears for, ESPECIALLY when it comes to Beauty.

These are a few tips that I swear by. Well…almost all of them.

Not going to lie, haven’t tested out the first one, but I am hoping one of you awesome readers can school me on it. Like, does it really work?

Bye Bye Static

When you have static hair that is fresh, clean and bouncy, you don’t want to add oil to calm it down because it will change the texture. Go into your laundry cabinet and pull out one of your ‘Bounce’ static-free sheets that we use for our clothes. Rub it on your hands, clothes and then in your hair and, voila, no static.”

Vaseline

I have a giant tub of Vaseline and my friends have definitely made fun of me. *Too many dirty minds* Vaseline can be used in so many ways for your face! It’s not just for chapped lips, you can use it as a brow bone highlight, tame unruly brows, make lips appear fuller (my favorite use), add it to your favorite color to give your shadow a glossy texture. The possibilities are endless!

Pimples and Toothpaste

So I haven’t done this since I was a teenager. Thank god I don’t get acne anymore. Mine was bad growing up…like BAD. You can fight pimples with toothpaste. I know. This sounds weird. But it definitely works. Apply a little squeeze of toothpaste on the pimple before sleeping and you will get rid of it, usually, overnight. It should be a plain white toothpaste, although I do like the cooling feeling of mint. This can be a good alternative on occasions when you don’t have a proper spot treatment at hand or when you are out of your usual acne cream – but remember, that it should be used rarely –  I mean, it’s toothpaste.

Shave With Conditioner

I have been doing this since I was old enough to shave (actually my mother never “let me” shave and Indian girls are hairy AF so I’ve been secretly doing this since I was 10). If you’re out of shaving cream or just don’t want to deal with buying ANTOHER product, lather your legs with conditioner instead of soap. Conditioner will soften the hair on your legs making it easier to shave and it will leave your skin feeling extra silky smooth.

 Apply Sunscreen Daily

Since I have vitiligo this is non-negotiable for me. I Wear sunscreen every damn day whether is sunny, raining, snowing. whenever. According to the American Academy of Dermatology, 80% of the sun’s ultraviolet rays pass through the clouds. An easy way to remember this is to have SPF in your makeup and body lotion. I use iT Cosmetics CC cream with SPF 50 and Aveeno daily lotion with SPF 30. That way you don’t even have to think about it.

Tweezing Tips

Before you tweeze, make sure you soften your skin by soaking a cotton ball in warm water or cream. When you start tweezing, do it in the direction of your hair’s growth. Then, follow up with some Rose Hip oil, this one is my favorite. It help with the redness + it feels really nice on your skin.

Cut Back On Pedicures

Legit. My pedicures usually last 2 months or so. I just file down instead of cut. Save money on your beauty routine by taking care of your feet on a daily basis. Get yourself a pumice stone and scrub those feet down in the shower every morning. When you are done showering remember to MOISTURIZE.  Moisturizing your feet will increase the amount of time you can go without a pedicure and will keep your toes healthy and fungus-free.

I’m telling you guys. EASY.

What are some ride or die beauty tips YOU live by?

These are really useful tips , most of us have vaseline and conditioner and the fact that they double up for so many uses is great.

Some of this could be also useful for men too! Using a sunscreen for example I find it important for us too, but seem to forget so many times to apply that to my routine.

Loving the tip about using conditioner to shave with. You are so right now thinking about it, helping to soften your hair before you shave,
