SPARKLES + LEATHER + NEW YEAR’S EVE + THE LOOK

New Year's Eve attire
I CANNOT BELIEVE THERE ARE ONLY 4 DAYS LEFT IN THIS YEAR.

mind BLOWN.

Do you ever feel like the older you get the faster time goes by? It almost feels like I am out of control, ya know?

I keep telling myself that there is time, lots of time; more time, we can do it tomorrow, or next week or next year…then that time comes and goes and I am left dumbfounded as to what happened to the time.

Sorry to get all deep, it’s just that time is flying and I keep trying to come up with reasons as to why! LOL.

At the end of each year I like to reflect on what it was that I wanted out of this year and if I accomplished it or not.

“You can have it all. Just not all at once.”
― Oprah Winfrey

Sometimes those goals and accomplishments are met and other times it’s a tack on for next year.

This year my goal was to get this blog up and running!

Let me tell you something, having a blog is not as easy it looks. There is more to a site than content and pretty pictures. There is a whole back end that I thought I would never figure out. It is a continuous learning process and the pieces are slowly being put together like a puzzle.

Sometimes puzzles can be as complex as putting shards of your life together. Other times they can be tormenting like putting a New Year’s Eve look together.

SO here’s the thing: I have been hearing so much jabber about NYE looks my head is going to spin! I read that sparkles, shimmer and glitter are out, while pops of color are IN.

I disagree.

Vegan anarchy leather mini skirt with zipper

First of all, do as you please! Dress however you like. Dress for you and your comfort level.

S E C O N D…I am ALL about glitter, glam, sequins and sparkles on NYE. The classic black, silver and gold gal is me allllllll the way.

I don’t usually wear outfits that shimmer throughout the year, so, for me; New Year’s Eve is the perfect time to do this!

I had a little bit of an issue while figuring out my outfit.

I ordered a dress online and of course when it came it was not true to size. When I tried it on everything hung out.

Tits, ass…you name it. It was out.

Super disappointing.

Luckily, Nasty Gal (the kingdom for all major girl bosses) was to the rescue.

I am obsessed with the rocker, chic, feminine look.

Since I have no pigments black is the color for me. It makes my skin pop and I don’t look washed out. Lighter hues aren’t for me.

Motel Ariel Sequin Top

The skirt has a bad ass flare with the incorporation of the zipper across the front + its leather.

Black leather = S E X.

I knew I wanted sparkles of some sort to offset the masculinity of the skirt but I was having the hardest time finding a top to compliment the skirt. A t-shirt didn’t work and I was not feeling the crop-top look. I ate one too many cookies over Christmas.

Cue in the sequin bodysuit. It is comfortable and conveniently hides away nicely inside the skirt.

I am an accessory FEEN so lots of mid-rings are KEY.

I am still up in the air about a necklace. What do you guys think? Should I rock a choker or leave the outfit as is?

No outfit is complete without sexy shoes and a bag.

Keeping it light on NYE is important. I hate being dragged down by my purse. I usually opt for a hand clutch but with the dancing I am doing a crossover is where it’s at.

Having a short frame limits me in the shoe department some times. I have these killed RED velvet knee highs, but with this outfit they are looking a little hoochie mama.

If you are pulling it off I would LOVE to see. It is always nice seeing people rock something you can’t.

In the meantime I am going to stick to my Jeffery’s. They are sky high, studded and add the perfect balance to my masculine/feminine New Year’s Eve looks.

What’s the look you are going for this NYE? Leave me a comment below; add a pic of your outfit or a link to the page. I am dying to see your picks! xx
