My baby turned 1 yesterday!
Gahhhh.
YES. I AM A CRAZY DOG MOM.
He is my only son. My baby. I birthed him.
Yikes.
Too far?
anyways.
So Khush turned 1 yesterday and I am like {jaw on the ground } at how fast the last year went by.
I feel like we just picked him up from Schultz’s Guest House is Dedham last year.
It’s true what they say about pets really becoming part of your family.
It is crazy to think what life would be like without this goofball.
He brings a smile to my face every day when I come home. My whole mood can change after seeing him and he makes me feel so loved!
Its that #loyalty that dogs bring you know?
So like any good dog parents, J and I threw Khush a 1st birthday party at the park across the street from our house.
The party was complete with neighborhood dog friends, his doggie cousins and his human loved ones.
In true form I baked Khush a b-day cake made from Almond flour (he is a little sensitive to grains – fun fact though; oats are technically gluten–free since they aren’t a type of wheat, barley or rye grain, the three groups of whole grains that naturally contain the protein gluten), Peanut Butter, Honey and Carrots, with a Peanut Butter and Bacon frosting.
I also made dog treats for him and his besties.
I love making home made dog treats, so just like most things I eat, I can control what goes into the final product.
Everything is all natural, organic and wont mess with his system + this way I can give him more variety without all that chemical feel.
These treats are hypoallergenic and have a touch of coconut oil with peanut butter, oats and banana.
These are even good enough for any human to consume!
Coconut oil has been shown to elevate metabolism and boost energy + it protects from illnesses. It can also help a dog’s fur, kind of the same way it helps our skin. It can improve digestion and reduce allergic reactions.
The bananas are filled with potassium and fiber and are low in sodium and cholesterol. And peanut butter…well…. its peanut butter. Dogs just love that shit! (no pun intended)
You can really feel GOOD about feeding these to your fur baby.
Whip up a batch in less than 30 minutes from prep to cook to cool time.
Your dog is worth it!
Xx

These are so cute and I love how you treat your dog just like a child. I expect I’ll be the same when I get cats x

These sound like super healthy and tasty treats for dogs. I love that we can eat them too!!! They seem easy to make which is great.
Aw happy birthday to your very adorable dog, such a cutie! I totally get what you mean by being a dog mum, see I myself am the proud owner of imaginary cats and dogs, that one day I hope will transform into real cats and dogs. I would rescue them from a shelter and give them a warm and loving home.
We have 2 newly adopted babies and they’re just delightful to have at home! I can’t wait to make treats for them once we finally get home from our trip! I’m sure they’re going to love these!
Congrats!
