Where to Buy Fall Decos On a Budget!

Fall Decorating

Current mood: reminiscing about the three day weekend hoping that this weekend is another 3 day weekend, followed by another and another.

Yeah.

Maybe one day dreams will become a reality.

anywyas.

I really wanted to decorate the house for fall but sometimes buying all these decorative items can add up. AM I RIGHT?

Decorating for fall doesn’t have to be hard or expensive. I have easy tips and suggestions to get make your home fall ready!

A little back story for ya.

I love a good backstory.

So the weather has TOTALLY been playing tricks on me and it is so not cool (no pun intended…well maybe).

How’s a girl supposed to plan fall outfits?

I tried to be super cute and basic AF in my new fall digs at the farm, but the sun had other plans.

Ok, picture this: you think it’s going to be a cool breezy 70 degrees, with overcast and slight humidity…but, instead, its 72 which feels like 85, the skies are blue and clear and the sun is beating down while you are dripping beads of sweat.

YIKES.

Anyways. Sorry for the rant. I’ll share more about my outfit details at the end of the post (when the weather is cooler to wear it)!

Since we are about a week and half into the month of October, it makes it prime time for fall decorating. You know, that sweet spot where you have your decorations out for just long enough to get in the season spirit, but just short enough so you aren’t totally sick of them….yeah, I get you and am with you!

This past weekend J and I visited Smolak Farms, which is a super cute farm located in North Andover, MA. The town was super quaint and filled with a shit ton of land and lots of, you guessed it, corn!

I have been dying to get pumpkins to carve and apples to pick, so J did some research and found Smolak which had both, plus a corn maze, hayride and petting zoo! The cherry was on top was that it was dog friendly and we could bring Khush.

Fall Decorating

WIN.

Side note: I picked out a perfectly round, Cinderella type pumpkin which is going to go perfectly on my front stoop.

Confession: Every year J and I carve pumpkins (we usually get stencils too) and every year mine ends up looking all types of jacked up! I don’t know what my deal is. I can’t seem to carve it right. Anybody else have that problem?

If you have a farm close by to you that you can pick out your pumpkins, I def recommend going there to pick one out instead of your local grocery store.

First of all, it’s fun to get out of the house. Second; the selection is much wider and you can really spend time finding that perfect pumpkin instead of settling for one that you just kind of like. We’ve all done it before!

Also, another bonus is grabbing decorative gourds and selecting textbook apples for scrumptious pies and other fall treats.

Fall Decorating

My other secret weapon to fall decorating is The Christmas Tree Shop.

YOU GUYS. THEY HAVE EVERYTHING.

But really, everything + they are totally budget friendly. Justin and I got so many cute pieces.

We bought a candle enclosed in a glass cylinder as a centerpiece for our table (we put the mini gourds from the farm next to it), plus lots of cute signs that say “harvest” and “fall.”

Fall Decorating

We got some metal pumpkins, because we didn’t have enough, ya know?

ALSO, can’t forget that fall time and the month of October is Halloween time! I am super cheesy and made Justin get a snowball that snowed in black with a huge skull in the middle of it.

Chic right?

Moreover you can never have enough fake seasonal plants! Just make sure you store them correctly at the end of each season so they stay in pristine shape for the next year.

What are some of your favorite ways to decorate for the holiday season? Do you follow traditions or just go with the flow?

Any favorite shops?

Give me the deats!

I wished my family decorated the house each season. We’re such boring people. But these decors are so cute!

I have a collection of pumpkins. I add one every year, sometimes get rid some. Mostly found at Home Goods, Hobby Lobby, Michael’s, Joanne’s or Target! I don’t really decorate for Halloween but fall- besides the lights outside our home since my 5 year old asked for some “spooky halloween” lights!
