Short & Spicy: Miami + Summer Trends

It has been a HOT minute since I’ve spoken to ya’ll!

How have you been? What’s new?

LET’S CATCH UP.

I went to Canada for my cousins wedding and Miami for a friend’s bachelorette.

I feel like I have been away for so long! But, honestly, I needed a break from social media and the blog. It felt so good just to disconnect and spend time with family and friends and not have to worry about anything else.

Do you ever get that way?

Sometimes you just need a breather, you know?

any who, I’m back now! and happy to be too. i love connecting with all you guys each week.

Woo.

Before I left for Canada the weather here in Boston was pretty much shit. We were still caught between rain, snow and high powered winds.

It sucked! Luckily the weather was beautiful in Canada and then my next trip was to Miami.

Not going to lie, the weather in Miami was sub-par. It was hot and humid and we had a dark cloud, like literally, on top of us every day.

Despite the rain in Miami I still rocked some of my fresh summer outfits and all of us girls had an amazing time!

I mean, how can you NOT have a good time in Miami?

I saw so many of my favorite summer trends on display all over South Beach including this sexy maxi wrap skirt and floral crop top.

Do florals ever go out of style? I don’t think so. What I LOVE about this outfit is that it is a simple day to night shift. Switch from flats or sandals during the day to cute wedges or heels for the evening. Throw on some lipstick, get your hair right and you’re ready to hit the clubssss! WHA WHA.

Ok, yeah, we only went to one club and struggled getting our asses there in the first place because we are all old and can’t handle day drinking like we used to.

*shrugs*

oh well.

Another summer staple I’m obsessed with is swimsuits.

ONEPIECE swimsuits to be exact.

There is something super chic and sexy about a classic one piece.

It keeps the mind wondering. You know what I’m saying?

Less is MORE.

What do you guys think about the lace trend?

I wore this red little number to E11even the night we went clubbing.

First of all, red is one of my favorite colors. It just pops!

Lace reminds me of all things feminine. There is something so delicate about lace that translates to all seasons.

Like, it’s always appropriate, don’t you think?

Another trend I saw a lot of in Miami was see through everything!! Remember how I said less is more…yeah…think I will stick with that. I mean how the hell can I wear a see-through dress in public with my bra and underwear showing?

Not a good look for me. But hey, to each their own!

Fashion is all about self-expression so what’s right for me isn’t necessarily right for someone else and that’s OK.

A trend that I am digging though is all the pastel colors! Have you guys noticed that? Pastel everywhere.

Especially vibing with the lavenders, sky blues and baby pinks. I know it sounds very Easter-y, but who says we can’t rock it into the summer?

The colors are a little preppy but they match any sunny backdrop.

If you had to pick one outfit in one color and one style to rock all summer what would you pick?

I would have to go with a blue, long, flowy maxi dress. You can dress it up or down, make it look sleek or use it to cover up any extra ice cream pounds!

anyways, I’m off to hijack the TV and binge season 2 of Thirteen Reasons Why on Netflix. Have you watched yet?!

Have a fab Memorial Day Weekend!

Lots of Love.

I agree. Floral prints and summer always go together. Personally, I appreciate a nice floppy straw hat. It’s a great accessory that adds a bit of summer fun.

I like the red dress best on you. You look fresh with that colour. For summer I like long flowy dresses and jumpsuits. Great post.

You’re so right. I love maxi dresses. The reasons you listed “You can dress it up or down, make it look sleek or use it to cover up any extra ice cream pounds,” were definitely right on target.
