over 4th if July weekend we went through an entire bag of otter pops. Not only because it is hot AF, but well, ice pops!
Popsicle’s are some of my favorite summer time treats and they are SO easy to make at home.
I love adding a little alcohol to these treats to make an adult boozy dessert.
Recently Brenne sent me a bottle of their single malt whisky and it was AMAZING.

I got a lot of banana flavor from Brenne and it tastes super warm like baking spices. I’ve never had a whisky like that before. V easy to drink.
One of Justin’s favorite drinks to order at the bar is a Manhattan, so I thought it would be fun to make Manhattan flavored Popsicle! This whisky paired perfect with my Manhattan ingredients of choice; cherry, bitters and a little orange!
I only used 3ozs of Brenne to make these pops which give it the just right amount of booziness. If you like it stronger, simply add more whisky or dip the popsicle in a glass of of it!

- 1½ lbs. frozen cherries
- 2 tbsps. Orange zest
- ½ cup + 2 tbsps. cane sugar
- ½ cup + 2 tbsps. water
- 3 oz. bourbon or rye whisky
- 1-2 dashes Angostura bitters (or more to taste)
Ingredients

- Combine sugar and water in small pan and stir over low heat until sugar is completely dissolved. Remove from heat.
- Puree orange zest with frozen cherries and a tablespoon or so of water and transfer to measuring cup or pitcher with a pouring spout, and combine with cooled sugar water mixture.
- Add bourbon and bitters, then stir well to combine and freeze in popsicle molds.

These popsicles seem dangerous! I’d love to try one of these on a sunny day after a nice dip in the pool. Definitely going to give these a try!
